Let's go!

The Parish Council held a climate change open meeting held on 15th January 2020. The meeting was well attended with approximately 25 people present. The first hour of the meeting was a presentation on County Council’s climate strategy. The second hour was an open discussion about how the village might tackle the climate emergency. Several ideas came up as part of the discussion including (in no particular order)

  • Hedgehog gates
  • Walking bus for the primary school
  • 50mph limit for A142
  • Improving the A142 junctions
  • Traffic congestion and speed through the village
  • Moving houses off gas and oil
  • Community wind and solar energy generation
  • Sustainable transport
  • Getting local children involved
  • How best to disseminate information to villagers.

At the end of the discussion it was decided to hold another meeting and 4 of the attendees took responsibility to organise its content; they will report back to the Parish Council who will help facilitate the meeting.
